One of the directions of Robotex is to offer practical and manual robot-related activities also to those people who lack knowledge in engineering or have not had an opportunity to engage in this field. A variety of robotic-related seminars will be carried out and actual programming and robot building will be taught in the workshops.
Please note there might be slight changes in course time and location. The registered participants will be given information about changes via e-mail or text message system.

Software Analyst Workshop
Behind every technological innovation are people who must communicate, listen to each other, collaborate, and turn ideas into reality. Will the planned IT solution be successful? That depends on both the team’s technical skills and their human collaboration. A software analyst is a specialist who investigates what a program must do and conveys these requirements to the developers. If something does not work well, the analyst identifies the problem and helps resolve it. In this workshop, you will try the role of a software analyst through a practical and engaging game that helps you understand the nature of teamwork and reveals the challenges software development teams face.

Glowing Spinner Building Workshop
What could be more fun than spinning a fidget spinner and watching colourful patterns appear on it?
In this workshop, we will build a glowing spinner. It features lights in different colours, and when the spinner is set in motion, the lights turn on and create cool multicoloured patterns as it rotates.
In the workshop, we introduce what a circuit board is, what electronic components are, and what soldering means — a skill every robotics enthusiast gets to practice often. To build the spinner, we will solder various components onto a circuit board.
We will explain clearly and step by step why these components are needed and how they are used.
In our workshops, we complete all steps together, explain the purpose of each component, and ensure a personalised learning experience.
Everyone succeeds, and everyone leaves with their fully working device.

Mysterious DNA Workshop
Join the workshop of the Institute of Bioengineering! In this session, you will explore a molecular biology laboratory and help scientists solve a mix-up that recently occurred there. Someone has accidentally damaged the DNA database by deleting the labels from sample tubes. Your task is to determine which sample belongs in which tube.
To do this, we will use so-called “DNA scissors” (scientifically known as restriction enzymes) to cut DNA into fragments. Since we know that these “scissors” cut DNA from different samples at different positions, comparing the resulting DNA fragments allows us to identify which DNA sample is in each tube.
Help us restore the DNA database — come and join our workshop!
